Solar DAQ project

The goal of this project is to create a testing system for solar thermal panels to evaluate efficiency and foster product development. Management is entrusted to a computer on which a specifically developed control software is installed, connected to a data collection system spread over 17 testing stations.

The data collection system is controlled by a PLC which, via field-bus, works as a collector for more than 150 I/O situated in the eight switchboards making up the system.

The PLC manages the measurement systems and the command of the actuators needed to recreate the testing conditions that the user has pre-set for every single station.

The computer collects and organizes all the field data in a database, from which they will later be extracted and processed to carry out the required evaluations. At the end of the test, the system can generate a report containing all the test parameters set, the climatic conditions and the results obtained.
